You have to jimmy it to get it to lock down. The plastic skirt around the blade unit is super cheap plastic and will probably break soon. The manual says this skirt is designed to help stand up the pitcher on the table top, but it doesn’t really do anything useful and makes it more difficult to line up the pitcher with the base. I may just toss it, the blender works fine without it. The lid has a very small hole, only about 1 inch by 1/2 inch, so it’s very difficult to add liquids or powders during blending. Solid foods have to already be diced up to fit through the hole. And the cap to the hole doesn’t fit well, it slides off too easily and has flown off when I used high power. The pour spout on the pitcher is too wide and makes it difficult to pour into a glass accurately. Overall, it does blend very well and is decently quiet on low and medium. It has some quirks that require getting used to. For $50, a good blender, but for $80 there’s probably a better product out there. 32 of 34 people found the following review helpful. |

I was not long ago asked a question on our website that I thought deserved a lengthy answer. So, J.C, you’re thinking when it comes to getting a tattoo, but you have diabetes. Is this a good idea? Well, in most cases it’s not a problem. But there are a great deal of things you must be thinking with regards to before for the duration of and after the inking process. During my 18 years in podiatric exercise I thought I had seen everything, that is until one day I was called to the emergency section for a consultation. A 45 year old female diabetic patient decisive to get a tattoo on the top of her foot. She said she thought not one thing of it at the time. It was a rendering of her late cat whom she loved so much. About 3 days after the inking she begun to fabricate a lot of redness around the site. She followed the directions given to her, but the redness got worse. She employed more ointment but now she could see the redness disseminating away from the tattoo. She consulted her tattoo artisan who intuitively had her call her physician who sent her without delay to the emergency department. A tattoo for all practical purposes is an intentional wound. This young woman had gotten an infection and because she had the circulation of an 80 year old and because of neuropathy she did not feel any pain. What she did have was an abscess on the top of her foot. This led to the circulation getting worse leading to gangrene of the toes. She at long last lost half her foot. I was capable to save the remaining foot, by cleaning out the infected bone and soft tissue, and using high tech state of the art wound healing productions and treatments. Let’s talk about a little with regards to diabetes first. Diabetes is the leading cause of non-traumatic foot and leg amputations in the United States and approximately 14 to 24 percent of persons who requires medical care with diabetes who give rise to a foot ulcer and contagions go on to have an amputation. Research, however, has shown that the development of a foot ulcer is preventable. Anyone who has diabetes may give rise to a foot ulcer or an infection. Native Americans, African Americans, Hispanics and older men are more likely to fabricate ulcers. People who use insulin are at a higher danger of constructing a foot ulcer, as are persons who requires medical care with diabetes-related kidney, eye, and heart disease. Being overweight and using alcohol and tobacco likewise play a role. Diabetic complicatednesses fabricate due to a combining of factors, such as lack of sentiment in the foot, poor circulation, foot deformities, irritation (such as friction or pressure), and trauma, as well as duration of diabetes. Patients who have diabetes for numerous years may give rise to neuropathy, a scaled down or finish lack of sentiment in the feet and legs due to nerve harm caused by elevated blood sugar levels over time. The nerve harm oftentimes may take place without pain and one may not even be conscious of the problem. “ “Vascular sickness may complicate a healing tattoo, reducing the body’s capacity to heal and increasing the danger for an infection. Elevations in blood glucose may reduce the body’s capacity to fight off a potential infection and likewise slow down the entire healing process.” Most tattoos do not get infected; notwithstanding if your physician diagnoses an infection, a treatment program of antibiotics, wound care, and perhaps hospitalization will be necessary. There are various indispensable constituents to keep a tattoo from getting infected:
The science of wound care has modern significantly over the past ten years. The old thought of “let the air get at it” is now known to be destructive to healing. We recognise that wounds including tattoos and ulcers heal faster, with a lower risk of infection, if they are kept covered and moist. The use of full strength betadine, peroxide, whirlpools and soaking are not recommended, as this could lead to further complications. Appropriate wound management includes the use of dressings and topically-applied medications. These range from normal saline to modern merchandise that have been shown to be highly effective in healing problem tattoos. The key to successful tattoo healing is to ascertain the following “gold standard” of care:
The old saying, “an ounce of preventative action is worth a pound of cure” was never as true as it is when preventing a diabetic tattoo complication. Most helpful customer reviews 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful. |
