Filters for the Black and Decker

Now that Black and Decker has changed the style of its hand vacs, it is becoming more difficult to find the filters for the older models. This filter can be found here online or you can go to Wal-mart and get the generic arm & hammer filters. They both fit well and you can continue to use our old vac. Although, I have to say the new cyclone vacs are better (ergonomic, retains battery charge longer, picks up everything, and easier to clean the chamber afterwards).

Decent, but a little pricey

Received this as a gift for Christmas ’08. Have used it at least 8 times so far, and have had no problems with the function or electronics or anything. It does cook well, and it is nice and easy to clean once you have the oil drained (just throw most of it into the dishwasher!). However, one of the reasons that I requested this fryer was for the draining system, and I am pretty disappointed in it. I was hoping for something a little more sophisticated then just a simple valve that opens, like maybe a built-in filter and a reservoir to hold the oil.

If you want to drain the oil, you have to first find a nice container to use to store the oil in. Then you have to try and hold this container up to the valve, along with a strainer or other filter to keep the oil clean, and I found you also need a funnel to keep the oil from running all over the place. While holding all of these items under the valve, you then have to try and open the valve. Once most of the oil has drained into the container (hopefully!), then you need to try and tip the fryer forward to get the rest of it through the valve. This task is obviously a little easier with 2 people, but would have been a lot easier if they had designed the unit better and made it so you only had to open the valve and it just filtered into an attached reservoir (or even a detachable container of some sort).

Another thing I don’t like is the fact that you have to set the timer before it will even start heating the oil. I’m not sure why, but once you select the temperature, it won’t start heating until you set how long you will be cooking the food for. I have yet to even actually use the timer, since I usually need to cook several batches, so I just set the timer to something like 10 minutes, but then when the oil reaches the right temperature, I just cook the food and keep track of the cooking time myself.

Overall, it is a good fryer that does a good job of cooking the food, but I don’t think it is worth the price until the draining system and electronic timer is improved.

Best Fryer for a family of 2 or more! It ‘s Incredible!

I bought this fryer mainly because of its capacity, we’re a family of 4, and because I heard good things about it. I am so glad I did! This fryer cooks 3 pounds of food perfectly! I made a ton of homemade potato chips tonight. This fryer is easy to use and easy to clean, and, as a bonus, it’s easy to drain so you can save your oil.

When I was a teenager I worked at Burger King, and cooking with this fryer made me feel like I was at the fry station again (not that I want to relive that feeling). But, really, it has an actual basket that lowers into the hot oil and it has a place to set the basket so when your food is done it drains properly.

My Chinese chicken and broccoli has never tasted so good! This fryer is a gem.

If you like to cook and want to cut down your cooking time on foods such as french fries, chicken, fish for tacos etc…, then this is definitely a purchase to make. Amazon has free shipping on this fryer which is why I bought it from them.

We had a Fry Daddy years ago, and there is absolutely no comparison whatsoever between the Fry Daddy and this Delonghi fryer. Delonghi is light years ahead.

This deep fryer won’t disappoint!

This is the far best fryer I have ever owned.
Took some getting use to with the magnet plug. Once I learned how to use the plug everything was and is great with the fryer. Cooks fast and even.
You must have all items ready to go when using this product. I can have supper cooked less then 10 mins.
I love that I’m able to save oil, since all I use is peanut oil.
Looks great on the counter. Very easy to clean, everything goes into the dishwasher execpt heating element, which all you have to do with it is rinse with scolding hot water and a little soap and comes very clean.
I love it!!! Makes frying foods fun and not a job.
I cooked fried chicken in it and it came out crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. I have not fried chicken in years due to huge mess it makes, but this fryer made it easier.
If you are looking for a good looking and great fryer this is the one you should buy.

Stealthy

I purchased a SS GE Profile refrig/freezer in 2002. The refrig was super quiet, except when the IM-4 icemaker cycled. The IM-4 could be heard from the next room. After having a new floor installed, the contractors must have damaged something in the rear of the icemaker (pump). I replaced with the new IM-6. After checking my connections and looking for puddles, I had to continue to look inside the freezer to see if it was working. The IM-6 is so quiet, I could not hear the cycling. The only sound that was heard was the ice dropping into the empty bucket. Finally a quiet ice maker for my quiet refrigerator! Good job GE.

Easy to install

I purchased the GE Icemaker IM-6 to install in my frig that had never been equiped with one. It seems the icemaker is packaged with instructions and extra parts so that it fits EVERY refrigerator GE ever made. It was not hard finding the simple two page instructions for my model. But being a guy, it was real hard to throw out all those extra parts not needed – LOL.

GE Ice Maker

Easy to install and works great. Having a tech come out would have been almost $300 but I purchased for 20% of this cost and installed myself in about 10-15 minutes. Nice thing about this purchase was the fact that not only did it come with the ice-maker, it came with pretty much every part that i might potentially have issues with down the road. (If you purchase different parts from a parts store, it would have been over $200.

Great buy and suggest ordering if you have issues with your ice-maker.

Its the right filter for my Bissell Lift-off Revolution

This filter fits my Bissell Lift-off Revolution. This is a post filter, so to check if yours is dirty and ready to be replaced you have to take it out and see if the inside is dirty. If it is, then you need this new replacement filter. These filters are not washable or reuseable, so you have to replace them and toss the old one. I love that my Bissell has this filter on it because it keeps my vacuum from kicking up dust, which means I can dust then vacuum and the room stays clean! My only issues was that the replacement filter took a bit of effort to put in into my vacuum, which is good for the seal so dust does not sneak out, but I think it was harder to get in because it was a bit warped. I think it was an isolated issue with the filter I bought, and it did go in the vacuum and works fine.

Becareful.

When you search for Bissell 8 14, the 1st link that comes up is, “Bissell Style 8/14 Lift-Off Bagless HEPA Filter by Bissell”. However, what you get is a Crucial Vacuum product. If you want the Crucial Vacuum filters, you can get them for $.99 less if you select the link that indicates “by Crucial Vacuum”.

Great vacuum, affordable price

We had a Dyson vac which worked great … until it broke. Getting it fixed would’ve cost a lot just in shipping. You see, there really are no repair shops in the States for Dyson. So, we threw our $300+ vacuum away after about a year’s use. We bought the Bissell a few months ago. Having just bought a new wool rug that sheds like crazy (easily fills the dirt receptacle twice every time I vacuum). Also, we have a 2 yr old, three dogs (2 boxers, one mix breed puppy) and a cat, so we vac A LOT.

The Bissell is excellent – great suction, multiple tools on-board and a nice detachable section (we don’t have stairs, but if we did this would make cleaning them a breeze). You can turn off the rotating brush, which is great for tile. It’s got a HEPA filter (I mentioned our animals, right?) which makes me feel like our air’s maybe a bit better than it would be. Very happy overall (the bagless system is great, but lost a star as the receptacle could be a little bigger).

Slow cooker pot goes onto burner and into the oven

I was watching Rick Bayless’ “Mexico, One Plate At a Time” and saw him using something like this so I tracked it down on Amazon. What a great idea — the removable pot is made of cast aluminum and can go onto a stove top. I can saute vegetables, brown a roast and then lift the pot (using oven mitts) into the slow cooker to finish while I’m at work.
